Japanese Literature in Translation

I love reading literature in translation, and since first reading the works of authors like Haruki Murakami and Yoko Ogawa, I've acquired a particular interest for works translated from the Japanese language. I took three years of Japanese in college, so I know a bit of the language here and there, but I'm not good enough to read entire books yet. I don't have many opportunities to practice, but I like to find excerpts of some of my favorite works in their original Japanese language and attempt to interpret them, and reflect a bit on how nuances may have shifted in the transition between languages. These are some of my favorite works of Japanese literature available in English, sorted in chronological order by publication year.

私は訳本を読むのが好きです。読みましたを村上春樹と小川洋子の本以降に、特に日本文学を読むのがすきです。三年間に大学で日本語を勉強しましたから、ちょっと分かります。でも、全体本を読むわ難しい。たくさん練習しないでも、原典の訳本の好きな本の句を読むのが好きで、分かり見るで、英語の訳本に比べります。これは私の好きな日本文学です。(私の日本語は良くないです…すみません!)
